What to Expect at the ReStore:

Here at the ReStore, we sell all the donated goods that we receive from the community. As a result, we often have a wide assortment of items–some new, some used, some antique, all interesting. You never know what you’ll find (or not find) at the ReStore, so it’s always better to come visit than to call and ask about specific merchandise.

Our staff works hard to price used items according to their original retail value, factoring in wear and tear. If an item is scuffed, stained, or damaged in any way, our staff has already taken that into account when determining the price. All appliances are tested and are priced by a formula that accounts for age, model, and years of use. We do not sell items that are unsafe or unusable.

One Month Markdown Policy:

All items at the ReStore are tagged with a date and a price. When an item that costs more than $5 has been on the floor for one month, the price automatically drops by half. After two months, the price will drop by half again. This policy does not apply to the rugs for sale in the ReStore. 

Policies and Procedures:

  • Because our staff works hard to determine a fair price for every item, we do not haggle prices or offer discounts outside of the standard one month markdown policy and any pre-determined manager specials. This is a strict policy and we appreciate your cooperation with our staff – they can’t bend the rules!
  • All ReStore sales are FINAL. We do not offer returns. This applies to all merchandise with the exception of tested appliances, which come with a seven-day warranty – we want to be sure that it works when you get it home, too. All items to which this exception applies will be clearly marked.

Our ReStores represent an important part of Chatham Habitat for Humanity’s annual funding. Without the revenue generated in the ReStore, we would not be able to build safe, decent, affordable homes for as many families as we are. Thank you for your support – we couldn’t do it without our customers and donors!

Sewing Bee

Chatham Habitat’s Sewing Bee group meets every third Wednesday at our main office. They sew pillows, aprons, handbags, and more uniquely designed products to sell in our ReStore. Their items are made from new materials, and all of the proceeds go toward our programs. You can find their table in our ReStore!
