As you may have guessed, we have to postpone this year’s in-person Women Build (April 30th-May 2nd) because of the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19. However, we are incorporating virtual mini events to keep y’all engaged between now and the new Women Build date.
This is a tough time. It is clear that COVID-19 will have an outsized effect on Chatham Habitat’s most vulnerable populations. We serve families who work in retail, food service, medicine and other service industries. The critical need for affordable housing will only grow in the wake of this event, and with your help, we plan to be here to meet that need.
New Women Build Date
We are hoping to reschedule Women Build for a Thursday-Saturday in late summer or early fall. We’ll keep you in the loop.
Virtual Home Tour – Thursday April 30th at 11am – Join us for a virtual tour of Chatham Habitat’s three new homes on College Street (Siler City)! You’ll get a first look inside and learn about our energy-efficient construction practices.
Virtual Happy Hour – Friday May 1st at 5pm – Join our staff and Women Build crew leaders and introduce yourself to other participants. We’ll send you a Women Build inspired Spotify playlist and cocktail (or mocktail!) recipes.
We hope to also incorporate some contests and other surprises during these days. All of the mini events are open to anyone, so please help us spread the word! Our participate from home benefit is still in effect – a $25 donation will get you a Women Build t-shirt and certificate.
Finally, we want to extend a huge thank-you to our current sponsors. Please show them some love:
Ladies of Legacy at Jordan Lake
Rachel Flanagan Fitness
Encore at Briar Chapel
We are still accepting sponsorships throughout the Spring, but understand this is a tough time for local businesses (please support them too!). Our sponsorship forms can be found below.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. We’re bummed that we have to reschedule, but are excited about connecting virtually.
